News is bad these days – companies seem to be falling over one another in a rush to announce layoffs, plant shutdowns and more. 

 

On one hand companies lay off employees or ship jobs overseas and on the other hand, at the same time, whine why their customers are all broke. Ironic isn’t it ? 

 

In midst of all this mayhem is one company that stands out – Honda. Last year as gas crossed $4 barrier and bottom fell of sales of autos in US they actually announced sales gain of 1%. 

 

Since then, even their sales are falling. Despite that, they are still sticking to their 30 year (and counting) tradition of not laying off a single employee. 

 

Maybe there is a lesson in there somewhere for all of us. The reason for their success – their approach to employees, products and life.
